That's what I get for not reading all the way up. A Motorhead mention. I'll have to disagree on Diamond Dave, though. I thought Sammy was a much better fit with the Van Halen boys.

No, I just added the Best Metal Band category after you mentioned it. Diamond Dave was the prototype for all future front men. When you saw a Van Halen show back then, each guy would do a 10 to 15-minute solo. Eddie would do an extended version of Eruption. Alex did his big drum solo with the flaming gong. Mike played a bass solo that usually involved throwing and kicking his bass across the stage while chugging Jack Daniels. Dave would talk for 15 minutes telling stories and jokes.
